The bat cave is about 2 km from the village (Bukit Lawang). The trail starts at the Ecolodge Hotel and we walk from there to this fascinating place. A flashlight is required to see anything in the cave. There are three cave passages you can explore inside. The cave is about 300 meters long and is home to thousands of bats. You will explore the cave with a flashlight.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Airport / Medan – Bukit Lawang

Pick up from Medan hotel/airport. Drive four hours to Bukit Lawang by AC car. Once arrived at the hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure, you can swim or take a beautiful walk to the local village nearby.

Day 2

Bukit Lawang - 1 Day Trek

1 Day Jungle Trekking Starting at 9am from your guesthouse, you will spend 6-7 hours in the jungle. Your day includes a stop for lunch in the jungle. For the one-day trek we recommend you bring mosquito repellent, camera, and one large bottle of drinking water

Day 3

Bukit Lawang To Lake Toba/Samosir (Via Berastagi)

After breakfast we headed for Lake Toba by passing Berastagi and stop in to see the Fruit Market and soon, because time is not much, we move toward Sipiso-piso. Then we will arrive at Lake Toba in the afternoon, and we will cross the lake to get to samosir where we will stay overnight

Day 4

Samosir Island

After breakfast we start our tour around Samosir Island. Visit the Ambarita village, then Simanindo to see Batak Museum and Batak traditional dance performance at 10:30am. After the performance we visit another village to see sarong/ulos or Batak blanket maket. You can stop for lunch before we will back at the accommodation in the afternoon.

Day 5

Samosir Island -Medan/Airport Transfer back to airport (KNO)
